I’ve been eyeing the mini server racks a lot lately and the creative juices have been flowing. I’m on a tight budget so I can’t go out and purchase all the gear for it like some of the YouTubers do and drop $2k. I can however cut some 3/4” plywood, paint it, install some 4U rack rails and a couple of metal shelves. Add a couple of switches, a port patch panel, and a Dell OptiPlex running ProxMox. Make the proper connections and I have a home lab in a mini server rack running on my home network.
It doesn’t take much just get creative, if I had a larger 3D printer I would have printed it. However I had spare supplies from previous projects laying around and decided to utilize those to save time and money. Happy building .
